Fair Fishing è un'importante campagna di Greenpeace  a sostegno della pesca sostenibile contro la pesca eccessiva delle cosiddette mani mostro - vascelli attrezzati per la pesca industriale   che saccheggiano il mare e distruggono il suo ecosistema. Segnalo un articolo molto interessante di Antonio Cianciullo su Repubblica on line, sulla necessità di ridurre drasticamente i contributi statali ai combustibili fossili, attualmente pari a circa 550 miliardi di dollari su scala mondiale. Secondo il World Energy Outlook dell'IEA (International Energy Agency) se tali sussidi venissero eliminati si potrebbe raggiungere la metà degli attuali obiettivi di riduzione dei gas di serra. link all'articolo completo

Photograph: Another Promise An interesting and terryfing article about alleged illness (leukaemia) linked to work in a Samsung plant. The guardian report is about the lonely struggle of a South-Korean cab driver, Hwang Sang-ki, against Samsung, to demonstrate that his young daughter's death was caused by her exposure to hazardous kemicals at the Samsung plant in Suwon. The case also inspired a fictional film, Another promise, by the director Kim-Tae-yun, a film which has funded entirely by private donations and crowdfunding.
